A fan-requested custom on Weekend Wrestling starts with one of the pettiest locker-room disputes imaginable and turns it into something far hotter: the war over the studio’s limited hot water. Cody Blayde has a reputation for taking extra-long showers, and this time VanGore has had enough of waiting for the giant share he thinks he deserves. As Cody steps out towel-clad, VanGore confronts him, and before the smaller hunk can do much more than get into his white-and-green striped underpants, the big man is already launching him into the door, into the wall, and finally into the ring. That visual alone sells the match: Cody stuck wrestling nearly bare, exposed and vulnerable from the start, while VanGore towers over him in his black singlet, black kneepads, and blue-and-black boots like a monster who intends to make this very personal.
The action is exactly the kind of punishment-and-reversal fantasy this fan and others asked for. VanGore uses his size for overhead presses into slams, repeated over-the-knee backbreakers, a punishing powerslam, blatant choking, crushing power bombs, and a long, bouncing torture rack that turns Cody’s body into a helpless hunky display before dropping him hard. But one well-placed low shot changes the entire tone, and suddenly the giant becomes the one being slowed, choked, stretched, and shockingly controlled. Cody grounds him with scissors and body scissors, tears into him with heel hooks, a single-leg Boston crab, a huge suplex, and a knockout DDT, then takes his time forcing the giant to flex and studying that tattooed muscle while VanGore is trapped, helpless, or out cold. That’s the real allure here: a much smaller man, nearly stripped from the opening seconds, surviving the giant’s brutal early domination and then turning the tables so completely that the massive body in the singlet becomes the one being displayed, examined, pinned, and humbled in ways fans have never seen before.
This is arguably one of the best squash matches Weekend Wrestling has produced; both wrestlers are talented performers who assume their roles well and put on a very enjoyable bout! Byers is a formidable heel who expertly takes Dante apart from start to finish, and Dante is the doomed jobber who never stood a chance due to a leg injury! Byers applies underhanded tactics to secure an unfair victory, frequently going for Dante’s weakened leg and his balls! He repeatedly puts Dante in humiliating holds and puts him to sleep only to wake him up again; I love how often Byers begins to pin Dante but pulls him up at the last second to continue the one-sided match! Dante sells defeat very well, and it is obvious that Byers enjoyed toying with him! A couple friendly critiques: I wish this match had been a little lengthier, and I would have liked Byers to pull/play with Dante’s hair more throughout the match! It would also be very exciting for many fans if there was a sequel match where Byers further humiliated and defeated Dante in an unfair fashion! In conclusion, this is a great round that is worthy of five stars and is a must have for fans of squash matches!
Both wrestlers have impressive physiques. The trash talking is very clever-really enjoyable to watch the back and forth
Fun Match between the two especially with the eqiupment. Great back and forth!!
