Weekend Wrestling reveals a little more of Rico Romero’s true nature in this heated singles clash with Adam Astora. Rico doesn’t wait for trouble to find him—he creates it, then sticks around to make sure it gets ugly. He enters in red trunks with matching shoes, knee pads, and elbow pads, jawing in Spanish at Adam, who stands across from him in gold-and-silver packed-out trunks, black kneepads, and black boots. Adam may not understand the words, but he clearly recognizes Rico counting up to something, and what follows is the spark that turns this into the exact kind of hard-bodied, attitude-heavy fight fans want to see. The visual contrast is strong from the start: Rico all swagger and provocation, Adam the bigger, thicker hunk answering with strength, control, and the kind of presence that makes every shift in momentum feel charged with masculine power.
What makes this match so sexy is the way it begins as a back-and-forth struggle between two men who look evenly matched in grit and determination, only for Rico’s underhanded play and dirty escapes to slowly punish and wear the bigger man down. The action includes gutbashing with knees, feet, and shoulders in the corner, multiple trunk yanks and atomic wedgies that bare cheek, foot-to-throat chokes, suplexes, nasty face locks and chin locks, a modified camel clutch, lots of strikes and pin attempts, an over-the-knee backbreaker, devastating low blows, leg drops, a scoop slam, a debilitating DDT, a modified leg-splitting banana split, a sleeper hold, and a punishing stump puller. Through it all, the appeal is the same: domination, humiliation, and two muscular studs forcing each other to endure increasingly personal punishment, with Rico’s dirty streak giving the match its mean little edge as Adam’s bigger body becomes a more tempting target the longer the fight goes on.

Brendan was too soft with Brody! Fake movements, fake pain on the faces, fake, fake..... Normally, when Brendan is brutal, someone will "scream on the spit" at the end of the match!
Brendan Byers always dominates every opponent Weekend Wrestling serves up to him. I was glad to see Brody Merritt teaming with BBB in dismantling Scrappy. TBH, I've never liked Scrappy and so, it was fun watching him get worked over by two of my faves. Great video and great action. Thank you,Weekend Wrestling, and thank you, Weekend Wrestlers!
Once again, my guy Brody Merritt gets trounced and tormented by his opponent. It's not that I don't enjoy watching Brody suffer, but I do like a good back-and-forth battle where both wrestlers get to show their versatility. Great action! Both men played their roles well. But I do prefer seeing All-Star Super Brody come out on top.
I'm here as a Brody Merritt fan, so naturally, I like to see him in control of the match and defeating his opponent. That's not the case here. Shockwave torments and terrorizes Brody for 98% of the match. Don't get me wrong; I can get behind watching my guy suffer (and he does it so well) too. Great match, and here's hoping Brody gets the "W: next time.
