Weekend Wrestling delivers a fan-sponsored grudge match built around revenge, humiliation, and the slow dismantling of a bigger hunk by a smaller one with a long memory. Brody Merritt is found in the ring admiring himself in a letterman jacket marked with a notorious “S,” red bulging athletic compression tights, flashy red athletic shoes, and his signature glasses when Riff Simmons arrives in gold trunks with his own prominent package, black kneepads, and gold boots insisting he knows him from somewhere. Brody brushes him off, insulted by the idea, but as this 31+ minute sponsored match unfolds, Riff makes it brutally clear that he remembers Brody very well—because Brody used to bully him in high school, and now he plans to make the bigger, thicker tatted jock pay for it. That history gives the match its heat: Brody’s size, muscle, and swagger are exactly what make it so satisfying when Riff starts turning them into a target.
The appeal here is the fantasy the sponsor clearly wanted to hit: a bigger, more heavily built jock being broken down into a repeatedly humbled, increasingly exposed target, stripped down piece by piece, knocked out again and again, forced to flex, and made to endure the kind of revenge treatment that turns swagger into humiliation. Across this 31+ minute match, the action includes choking by hand and with foreign objects, multiple bodyslams, an overhead human press, over-the-knee backbreakers, purple nurples, repeated chloroform knockouts, sleeper-hold knockouts, stripping, forced flexing, multiple abdominal claws, multiple pins, a single-leg Boston crab, wedgies that display Brody’s muscular bottom, embarrassing over-the-knee spankings, and multiple low blows. The result is exactly the kind of revenge spectacle fans will want: mismatched bodies, shifting control, barefoot vulnerability, repeated KOs, forced flexing, bully revenge, camera close-ups and a relentless parade of punishment and humiliation that leaves the bigger hunk looking less and less in command as the match goes on.

Brendan Byers always dominates every opponent Weekend Wrestling serves up to him. I was glad to see Brody Merritt teaming with BBB in dismantling Scrappy. TBH, I've never liked Scrappy and so, it was fun watching him get worked over by two of my faves. Great video and great action. Thank you,Weekend Wrestling, and thank you, Weekend Wrestlers!
Once again, my guy Brody Merritt gets trounced and tormented by his opponent. It's not that I don't enjoy watching Brody suffer, but I do like a good back-and-forth battle where both wrestlers get to show their versatility. Great action! Both men played their roles well. But I do prefer seeing All-Star Super Brody come out on top.
I'm here as a Brody Merritt fan, so naturally, I like to see him in control of the match and defeating his opponent. That's not the case here. Shockwave torments and terrorizes Brody for 98% of the match. Don't get me wrong; I can get behind watching my guy suffer (and he does it so well) too. Great match, and here's hoping Brody gets the "W: next time.
